Learning Objectives

  • Recognise, sketch, and interpret graphs of standard functions including linear, quadratic, cubic, reciprocal, exponential, logarithmic, trigonometric, square root, modulus, and greatest integer functions.
  • Understand and identify key features of graphs: intercepts, turning points, asymptotes, domain, and range.
  • Analyse function properties from their graphs, such as even/odd symmetry and periodicity.
  • Apply transformations to graphs (translations, stretches, reflections) and understand their effect on the corresponding functions.
  • Use graphs to find approximate solutions to equations and inequalities.
  • Interpret gradients and areas related to graphs in various contexts (e.g., kinematics).
