What’s on the Specification
| Arg1 | Understand and be able to use mathematical logic in simple situations:
Note: candidates will not be expected to recognise or use symbolic notation for any of these terms, nor will they be expected to complete formal truth tables. |

| Arg3 | Understand and use the terms for all, for some (meaning for at least one), and there exists. |

Learning Objectives
- Understand mathematical statements and their truth values (true/false).
- Use the logical terms ‘and’, ‘or’ (inclusive), and ‘not’.
- Understand and use conditional statements: ‘if A then B’, ‘A if B’, ‘A only if B’, and ‘A if and only if B’
- Recognise and use the converse and contrapositive of a statement.
- Understand and apply the concepts of ‘necessary’ and ‘sufficient’ conditions.
- Interpret statements using quantifiers: ‘for all’, ‘for some’, ‘there exists’.
